News feminist philosophers can use

Keep other voices in mind January 1, 2009

I was feeling pretty daunted by Feministing’s idea of New Year’s resollutions as “a to-do list for the year, filled with positivity, aspirations and ways to move forward.”  Had the APA finished off my ability to have positive ideas!?!  Arggghhhh!  Then I thought of what a good thing it would be to keep more in touch with voices from parts of the world that so often seem unnoticed in the media.  Here are two good sources:

Global Voices:

Global Voices aggregates, curates, and amplifies the global conversation online – shining light on places and people other media often ignore. more about us »

Bangladesh from our view:

Nari Jibon Project seeks to increase our students’ and staffs’ abilities through different ways: classes, practice, computers, internet, and now the Narijibon Blog. Readers and writers (our students & staff) of the Blog will both learn about our lives, culture, Nature, activities of people in Bangladesh and the Nari Jibon Project.  (This blog is the important result of sustained and imaginative efforts by Kathy Ward.)

How about recommending other resources?  Or other positive resolutions?  What do you think?
