I was expecting that chagrined face-washing technique that cats are so good at. This was very funny, right down to the offended look from the cat at the end.

Thanks so much, Deborah. I thought on looking at it, that’s just how I feel on getting a rejection letter. And it isn’t funny; the cat is right on that too.

Given the various theories in philosophy of our knowledge of other minds, it seems significant that we can point to the cat and say “that’s just how I feel.” One doesn’t have to infer some inner feeling.

Hey, thanks for that link! I’m giving a short, in-class talk on “theories of animal minds” in a week, and this will be great to show.
