Want to promote your “high-precision displays for the examination and diagnosis of radiographs”? Medical Imaging company Eizo decided to go with the ‘sex sells’ strategy:

    I should add why this bothers me:

    i) using sex to sell X-ray displays? A bit of a stretch.

    ii) Might some female (and male) radiographers be less than delighted with the encroachment of pin up culture (albeit with a twist) into their workplace?

    iii) more generally, there’s something strangely anonymising about these pictures (although maybe people with training in biosciences are able to detect individualising features that my untrained eye cannot).

    Yes. Although that is not a universally shared assessment, judging by some of the comments on the linked article.

    The juxtaposition of these two posts also amuses me. This is the logical conclusion of the Proezena Schouler ads?

    Can’t stop looking at the calendar – it’s completely grotesque – I used to be utterly terrified of skeletons when I was little, but my mom thought I thought they were funny and so there were many in my room. The ‘sexy’ poses look really unnatural when you see them like this. But maybe all postures look unnatural when viewed in x-ray?
