I didn’t get it, either. But if it’s any consolation, flying pop-tart cat was only the 6th most important cat of 2011:

Matt, great list. I’m proud and relieved to note that #5 and #4 were previously picked by the Sunday cat. I’m not sure how to find #5, but #4 was singled out as showing that cats do feel moral emotions.
The full version of the video is 10 hours. This is just a preview. It is all exactly the same. I’m not sure I get it either but my 10 year old is way into it.

Looking back to those years, i think the fact that a parent did’t get something was a significant mark in its favor.
