Every now and again, it’s good to have a frivolous celebration of lady bits. And what better way to celebrate than dressing up as a vagina? In this, the first of many FP fashion features, Monkey brings you a selection of the finest vaginal outfits. First up, is this cosy little number from the Vagina Lady.
Vagina Lady can be seen out and about in the San Francisco area. She also makes vaginal art, which can be seen on her site.
Second, is the following lovely prom dress, recently offered for sale by internet retailers, Light in the Box. Perfect for getting yourself noticed at the High School dance. Or indeed, on any formal occasion.

Finally, I’m sad to report that one student’s sterling efforts on the vagina-wear front ended in disaster. Christian Silbereis wore what he described as an anatomically correct vaginal costume, complete with hidden foetus t-shirt, to a school Halloween party. The costume was created by his mother, a midwife, who warned him that some people might be offended. Fellow students awarded him the prize for best costume. But staff were not amused and suspended him for two days. Sadly, there are no photos. But you can read more here.
There are ALWAYS pictures in this day and age. Even if the news is 8 years old:

Thanks for the link, hippocampa.
Still, I always wonder why ‘anatomically correct’ does not entail correct size.
Re Vagina Lady: I love the costune [same concerns about size as above], but none of my pink parts are furry. Oh dear, is there something wrong with me?
A share: years ago I took my about 10 year old daughter to a local museum. They had an installation to which local artists had contributed, each one creating a single ‘station’ of an imagined miniature golf course. One was, you guessed it. I felt a bit odd hitting golf balls into an oversized vagina with my little girl, but it did get her interested in her own anatomy.
Excellent – thanks for the link to a pic! I’ve been racking my brains trying to imagine what on earth the Halloween costume looked like.
Mine aren’t furry either. Hey ho…
The golf course sounds great.
Come to think of it… “anatomically correct” does seem rather normative, doesn’t it?
these are great! I reposted on my blog.
btw, my sister told me that the second dress was a accident, and they actually didn’t mean to make it look like a vagina. In fact, they later photoshopped it out.
but i like that site – craftastrophe!
Yvonne – yes, sadly it’s true. The second dress was an accident.
Wow: fantastic outfits, Monkey! And, Yvonne, it’s somehow even better that they *accidentally* made a dress that looked just like a vagina. LOL.
I like how all depictions of vaginas have to be pink.
Hi all, great post Monkey. Fabulous outfits! Perfect for a prom!
Samia – take a look at some of Vagina Lady’s minivaginas.

She notes that with these she’s produce work using a greater range of the colour spectrum and different textures too!
I just realised. I’m actually supposed to believe that Light in the BOX didn’t realise it was selling a vagina dress??!!
Samia – interesting. Reminds me in a tangential way of someone asking me when I was little, what colour my mom was (I’m mixed-race). I didn’t understand the question, and was a bit stumped. I said her face was sort of light beige and her cheeks were pink.
Jender – apparently they didn’t realise! (Either that, or they didn’t anticipate the photo making its way quite so far around the net, and when it did, felt they should make the vaginal section less prominent.)
Maybe they haven’t thought about their name either.
