Celebrating Jen Hornsby’s Philosophy: Action, Mind, Language, and Gender

Jennifer Hornsby has been a major force in British philosophy since the 1970s. This conference aims to reflect on and celebrate her contribution to philosophy over the years, and provide the first systematic overview of Professor Hornsby’s corpus.

  1. This looks amazing. Wish I could be there. I’d certainly buy a book if one came from this.

    (Many years ago while I was still a graduate student, I heard Rorty give a talk where he identified Hornsby and Steward as two authors we really all should be reading if we were serious about philosophy of mind. I don’t know what role they played in his utterly bizarre talk, but I can say that I’m glad I heeded his advice.)
