US Racial Wealth Gap Largest Since 1984

The median wealth of white households is 20 times that of black households and 18 times that of Hispanic households, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from 2009.

In 1995, white households were only 7 times wealthier than black ones. (What a sad commentary it is that this figure represents a high water mark of equality.)
