    concluding that ideological state support ratherthan legal frameworks of equal opportunities laid the foundations for women’shierarchical achievements in Turkey. However, the explanation is multilayeredand lies in the cumulative and interrelated effect of state policy, institutionaltransparency, increased labour demand, the home–work interface, and theagency of the professors themselves. I’ll probably blog about this in the course of today or tomorrow.

  3. OT: Here I thought Canadian U’s would be more equality oriented, and I just found out that at least one U measures equality on a university-wide scale. Talk about blunt instruments :(
