This woman is amazing. Here’s why we know about her. (More here, because I haven’t found a transcript yet of the call).

A rare combination of a heart of gold and ice water in her veins. Wow.
Bless her soul! She’s a wonderful reminder that the greatest heroes are those without weapons of harm who keep their humanity alive even in times of danger. And that life-experience is the best training for life itself, more than any course can offer.
This story, in detail, should be disseminated everywhere, and taught in every course and training setting for service and to all law enforcers and social workers. Miss Tuff’s behavior is a beacon for every human being, and a reminder of what the best of humanity is, after all is said and done.
A hero worthy of the highest medal of honor.
Here’s a good video interview with Ms. Tuff – no transcript as far as I know.

Remember: The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is someone like Antoinette Tuff.

A “teachable moment” (in many ways) for sure.

Emotional intelligence and Antoinette Tuff’s heroism

Mary Guy on emotional labor seems great… another case, I think, of (groups of) people (and circles of literature) discussing very similar matters often in apparent isolation from each other. We really can use each other’s help…
