  1. I agree that many uses of pink for women are patronizing, but this doesn’t seem like one of them. Are Planned Parenthood’s pink busses also a patronizing?

    22% of MPs are women. Labor has by far the best representation of women MPs of the three major parties—currently 31%, as opposed to 16% of Conservative MPs and 12% of Liberal Democrat MPs. Labor has an explicit goal of making that 50%. More than half of their candidates in target seats are women, and if they win a majority, women would make up 43% of their MPs.

    Pink campaign busses obviously aren’t what women actually want, but I’m happy to see them using that bus to talk about some of the things I actually do want—free childcare, equal pay, prioritizing domestic violence.
