what j said… I recently read this article (which is now removed but once something is on the net, it’s on the net, so I still have someone’s facebook copy of it, here) that women spend a third of the income they have on hiring cabs, because they are in so many cases excluded from public transport.
They are now opting for gender segregated buses, so that women can be safe from harassment by taxidrivers. Of course the driver of the bus will still have to be a guy.
I don’t have any data, but I am sure that in Saudi Arabia, the issue of women earning less for doing the same job as a guy does applies there too.

One step forward, two steps back: Fatwa against those who oppose gender segregation, that means, put them to death if they don’t change their minds.
