Non-Academic Careers

We’ve periodically had queries about non-academic careers for people with advanced academic training, so I thought I’d note the existence of Leaving Academia. I think it’s great to have a site like this, especially one that has articles like this list of extremely famous and successful people who have left academia. It’s all too easy to get locked into the thought that one *must* get a job in academia. And that thought is rubbish. But it can be hard to see that. (And did *you* know Miuccia Prada has an PhD? I sure as hell didn’t. No wonder she makes such great glasses.)
